Last week, Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. (CFSI), who provides consolidated maintenance services to the Wilson building on a daily basis, received a request from the Executive Office of the Mayor and City Council; decorate the building with red and green exterior lighting for the holiday season.
CFSI is not one to disappoint.
Our technicians placed red and green film over the Wilson Building’s 40 long linear lights. We subcontracted out the work for the 101 spotlights on the roof as workers had to drop down from the roof ledge to install the film. The entire process took two days to complete, but it was well worth it.
Each night throughout the holiday season, when the lights automatically turn on, the building has a festive red and green glow. The Wilson Building will remain lit until after New Year’s.
CFSI is accustomed to preparing the Wilson Building for all types of ceremonies and events, as the building occupants include the General Council and the Mayor’s Office for the District of Columbia. In addition to city offices, the building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, also houses an art gallery, public museum displays and event space.
You may remember last year when CFSI turned the Wilson Building “Red” during the Washington Nationals playoff run; when we helped prepare the Building for the Presidential Inauguration; or when we turned the building “Pink” for Cherry Blossom Festival.
